Fashion fades, only style remains the same

Following on from the title of this post , I'm not sure if this girls style will remain the same...

This post is officially being dedicated to TAVI !!!!!!!!

WHOOO who doesn't love TAVI , i thought everyone did ( well guess not ). I personally love her, but she has to be THE MOST OVER HYPED PERSON OF 2009/2010..!!I mean the girls not even 14, how does she understand more about fashion that students from LACF OR CSM?

Why are fashion houses inviting her to their shows??? ( RODARTE, MARC JACOBS AND THE SHOCKER - CHANEL !never thought Karl would give in )

Well in the words of the legendary fashion writer Suzy Menkes ' SEEDING' ( long storey short- a designer invited a blogger to their fashion show, and then the writer blogs about them..to get good press basically)......Tavi did poste multiple articles about the Rodarte for Target collection , she even owns most of it herself these days , even the mega ripped thights and jumper that was replicated by Topshop and Hennes...

AND WHAT ABOUT HER STYLE CHOICES??

i think she hasn't really got a clue what shes doing....she just throws on her grandmothers ripped dress, her mothers over sized cardigan , her brothers spiderman belt and her dads John Lenon sunglasses and WHOLA out comes a big portion of marmite !!!!That's whats SO annoying about this...i/we can throw together anything and everything ....WHY HER , because shes so young and she writes in the language that most adults/fashion journalists dont understand..

AND THE COVER OF 'POP' MAGAZINE(S/S 2009-2010)

Tavi didn't appear on one cover of POP she appeared on 2 !!, i actually own the issue and i don't understand how she did it ...why?

I think shes trying to be too much like Suzy form 'Style Bubble' and to be honest we only need one Suzy ...

Very Irresistible Givenchy

WHAT? THEIR COLOUR THEME IS ALWAYS - BLACK, GOLD AND SILVER...or you thought so...

Another couture designer has 'walked' the runway at Paris fashion week.
Givenchy , whenever i hear the word it reminds me of 'Hard Rock, Soft Tailoring and heavily jewelled pieces....that's what Givenchy stands for right? well apparently not ...The couture collection , designed by Riccardo Tisci was rather girly..i dare to say ...and that wasn't all every time i look at the images- other collections keep popping in my head...like the feathered tassel detailed tops, with the sharp tailored suit just screammmmmsssssss ARMANI PRIVE to me.....or the long gowns ( except the ruffle one) are very Versace....or even the gorgeous ' pom pom dyed' dress ..Sonia Rykiel- Fall 2009/Armand Basi ( the pop pom shoes..).

Over all i think its gorgeous but the pieces do remind me of other collections, but then thers only so much you can design ...

I just hope Givenchy go back to their, 'cool' look, as i think it suited the brand better.....( remmember the heavily jeweled head pieces worn at last years collection....amazing...)

normally Givenchy makes my jaw drop , but sadly not this time...my hopes are up for s/s 2011...or is it too late ....OF COURSE NOT !

MOVING ON FROM THE NEWS THAT HAVE 'SHAKEN' UP MY WHOLE WEEK( BRANGELINA SPLITTING UP..Soo not true right?)

Yes it was that time of the year when Galiano and Lagerfeld put their best creative eye forward to create the most delicate and beautiful clothes you will ever see( and the most amazing price tags.I recently watched a program about ' the truth about couture' and a YSL couture dress can sell for up to $100k ..so a Chanel would be about $200k ...god Daphene Guinness must have diged deep in her husbands wallet when they split ).

CHANEL -

The beautiful tailoring and the figure hugging pieces were there once again, with white as their main colour, collarless jackets ,and the tradition that is the Chanel tweed( i actually own a DVD about Chanel making a couture collection , and they have a lady deep in the french woods that stays up day and night to make the tweed by hand ! on her own + her cat ) ... i thought the hair was slightly lady gaga/Valentine's day surprise..( a heart shape)

p.s i was bolled over by the collection as it was stunning, except the little lagerfeld gold foiled surprise at the end...a man walking for a Chanel couture show in a gold foiled suit ......enough said !!!!!

The girls at the front row included Alexa Chung( wearing the amazing CLOGS from the Chanel s/s 2010 ), Hillary Alexander ( Telegraph), Kanye west ( and his girl dressed in gold .....again enough said) , and the jaw dropping moment when i saw TAVI in the front row...THE 13 YEAR OLD GIRL , yes shes 13 and shes an ultra famous fashion blogger!!!

KEEP an eye out ..its going to be ME sitting at the Chanel front row next year !!!!!!

WOW ..this is taking military 'trend' to another level ...i absolutely LOVE this jumper , and i don't care how long i have to save up for it , because i am having it in my wardrobe !!!

It was presented last week at the Milan fashion week , by Burberry Porsum... and oh god , Christopher Baily has done me proud once again!

it is a/w/ 2010-2011 collection which means it will hit shops during October , November , but you can actually pre-order the items as of next month ,...and trust me i am saving up for that jumper...i AM GETTING THAT JUMPER WHATEVER IT TAKES !!!!!!!!!

NIGHTMARE !!.. APPARENTLY THE JUMPER , YES JUST THE JUMPER IS GOING TO BE RETAILED AT AROUND £800( £800 QUID FOR A JUMPER !!!! I WAS THINKING MORE £250 )

Here come the .....BOYS

Enough of the Girl power for a moment..this is for all the blokes out there..you might wonder why I've posted a load of random pictures of very stylish guys, well its because I LOVE what they are wearing ..!

Lets start with the always immaculate Brad Goreski ( from the Rachel Zoe project),rocking them bow ties with blazers and vintage Chanel satchel.

Then ther's the young and slightly punk, Andreas Stil with his vintage biker leather jacket- i thought it was from the new H&M Divided Grey section, but he e-mailed me with the sad news that it was passed down to him from his dads friend...

Then ther's the beautiful coat from Burberry's a/w 2010-2011 collection, that was shown this week in Milan ...i adore that coat , and you can transfer it into a jacket ! its like Tescos buy 1 get 1 free, but Burberry!

You might wonder why is there a random studded leather jacket in the middle of all of these pictures, well i actually purchased that jacket form the 'Matthew Williamson H&M' range last year for only £30 ( it was £180 !!!!!!), and i haven't really had a chance to wear it yet, so one of my new year resolutions is to wear it to death ...As the beautifully soft cows leather will get even better with ageing.

I might actually give it a little walk around tomorrow , it is Matthew Williamson at the end of the day !

'I HATE FASHION, I SPIT AT VOGUE'

Now this has to be one of the most interesting articles i have read in a very long time...Tanya Gold made a very interesting point this morning by posting an article on http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/jan/22/i-hate-fashion-tanya-gold about 'WHY I HATE FASHION'.

I have to say this lady has made the fashionistas go crazy..( wondering what vogue has to say, she apparently spits at them .......interesting after i posted a very long article only 2 days ago about how much i love this glossy beacon ).

After seeing the title of her post i immediately had a comeback, 'WHY I HATE FASHION' - well the first thing that i have to say is she cant hate fashion!!!- even if she wants to , we live and breathe fashion every single day... even if she has that M&S dress or a Primark V-neck jumper in her wardrobe, she has to have a logical explenation of why its there?- WELL the first thing would probably be comfort- but there was some one behind that, someone who designed that jumper , or copied it form a designer.That jumper or dress started its journey at the vogue offices and then travelled down to , Marc Jacobs, then tescos and primark...thers a journey each piece has and I'm not talking about a sweat shop making clothes and then selling them ...the idea of that jumper had to come from someone inside the fashion industry ..someone who loves fashion....even if she doesn't shes wearing a jumper that was made by some one who does...

She also suggests that designer clothes don't make you look pretty , well does primark then????designer clothes are made with fabulous fabrics and attention to detail that makes you stand out in the crowd.. and all for the good reasons not the bad...

AND THIS WAS ONLY MY FIRST ARGUMENT AGAINST THE ARTICLE...

I did however agreed on one thing , the size zero issue , and i know vogue does feature a lot of models that only live on grapes , but thers action being taken as we speak ...if were all talking about it then something is being done ! 2010 is all about the comeback of CURVES !

DID I MENTION THAT FASHION IS AN INDUSTRY THAT KEEPS MILLIONS EMPLOYED ?????guess she didn't think of this !

'Good grief life if too short for so much venom'

Then the story about the girl who at only 16 years old died because she was wearing high heels and had fallen between the carriages of a train in West Sussex.. i don't think she should of put this in her article , but she says this was the reason why she decided to write it in the first place..

Well i actually do have something to say back to this Tanya, how can you know the circumstances ? You cant blame high heels for her death, even if she did fall between the carriages.. there might have been many other reasons behind this that we might never understand.

There are millions of girls wearing 6inch heels every Saturday nigh, and yes there are hundreds that have accidents but with most of them its because of their stupidity,not because the shoes are dangerous and i wont even mention the thousands of girls that get joy out of wearing them ...Its a two part argument that can go on for decades and decades ..

Maybe you will never love fashion, but for me life's too short you've got to enjoy it to the MAX , even if it means putting on a pair on MCQUEEN 12 inch heels and you cant be scared of things that might happen or have...

I still think you love fashion as you wear it DAILY ! and there is no way and of us can get out of this BUBBLE of fashion.

and if there are people with and argument than you know thers always going to be someone else with a comeback.

I wont go into all the details but , fabrics, manufacturing, sales advisers, manegers, visual merchandisers, family's , generations depend of the money that fashion brings home with them daily...

PEOPLE+CLOTHES=MONEY FOR THEM TO TAKE HOME !!

I want to write so much more but i think this would just go nowhere...

Well done to her for expressing her opinion on the fashion industry ( freelance journalist...making money) but , it defiantly doesn't work with me .!

* Alexa Chung and her super urban London chic look . i included the 'Alexa mulberry bag' , stripey top, and a burberry trench coat...London Chic !

* Nicole Richie and her to die for Boho/Hippy heaven..i absolutely adore this collage, i included a vintage maxi dress, a Hollywood mansion, a ton of 'House of Harlow 1960' jewelery and the balenciaga 'city' bag in white

*Carrie Bradshaw and her Up town New York look. i included a lot of heavy jewelery like studded givenchy bangles, a Halston Jumpsuit , quirky Chanel cube bag, and Carries apple lap top ....LOVE

Yesterday one of my dear Reading friends suggested i have a look at a new website she had found...and to be honest i didn't have a clue what it was as i have never heard of it before , but wow i was in for a shocker !!!
I stayed up till 2am last night 'fiddling with Alexa Chung's, Nicole Richie's and Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobes ' .
This website allows you to make collages out of anything and everything you can possibly think of , they have absolutely all designer and all items on there ( from Chanel, to topshop , h&m,Lanvin, McQueen , .............). You can also add music, text, background or import your own stuff in your little piece of art...this has to be my discovery of the year( with a little help of my friend)..not only it's an amazing time waster, it allows you to get inspired and imagine what styling is really like ,and to be honest girls , it hard !( took me ages to find the perfect black super high shoes for Carrie, i settled for L.A.M.B)

I'm planning on making more and more of these in the near future....my new obsession

Ageing Gracefully

Thank God for ASOS

Whilst doing my daily browsing trough ASOS i came across this vintage looking satchel,with the short grab handle and soft crinkle texture it was an instant hit with me.

The best part?It looks so much more expensive than £28!( wouldn't you agree?). Although i already own a satchel that i bought 2 years ago from Topman in Oxford Circus, this one has that rustic fell that i love at the moment. There is a downside though , unlike my topman one this satchel is in faux leather, but it is less than half the price...

This has to be on the top of my wish list for buys next month, i just hope it looks as good in real life as it does in the pictures.

I also spotted these club master retro sunglasses and at only £10! they are sure to keep me happy during the sunny summer days , whether its in England or on my travels abroad.

I've never really been a massive fan of men wearing necklace's, as i think it can sometimes be a bit too much , but ah Sky's the limit these days !

I purchased this wolf necklase from the Topman website and i absolutely love it, and at only £8 it didn't stop me from indulging in my daily lattes.

I am planning on wearing it over a checked shirt, or in the summer with a t-shirt, rolled up skinny's oh and not forgetting the legendary tassel loafers.

I know 'I ain't no Vanilla Ice' but the wolf goes nicely with my gold Casio watch...BLING PERFECTION !

Oh Frida, Frida, Frida !

I recently discovered a very stylish group of people from Stockholm.( jealous much? 'Weekday', 'Acne' , '5preview'). Frida has to be my favourite from the girls, her quirky style and Hollywood honey bleached hair makes my heart melt in a million pieces.And the best part ?She loves the boho look and some of the garments featured above are from H&M trend section and vintage finds, so they are not going break your bank.

From the blokes my favourite one is Andreas Stil, i would describe his style as simple but with a lot of layering, lots of '5preview' jewelery and everything is rolled up weather its the jacket or the jeans.

Every time i look at Frida in 'that' white jumpsuit from H&M , it reminds me of Bianca Jagger at STUDIO 54, maybe its just me but i think the girl rocks everything she wears...

She's the fearless EX editor of Marie Clair, who famously got sacked for referring to a model as 'a bag of bones' ( who ready MC these days anyway?) .

Now the horse lover has settled at Daily Mail ,writing her column every week..

To me she resembles what all women should -- tough, independent and a fighter who never gives up.

She refers to her Exmoore neighbours every now and again in her column ( and her book - 'the exmoore files').Liz hasn't got that many friends due to the fact that she's constantly writing about everyone and everything...Her CV also includes a failed marriage... But lets be honest she's better off with her dozen cats and horses...i think men bring trouble and constant worry ! !

I am a massive fan of Jones and I'm constantly retrieved about whats shes got to say..this week in her 'Liz Jone's Moans' post shes talking about how much she can's stand men that wear baseball caps, don't blame you hun , so 1990's right?

I think she's a wonderfull role model for women at all ages....btw I'd love to see her wardrobe , very country chic ( £££££££)

PEACE AND TRANQUILITY ....

All of the pictures above feature something that i love and constantly need to keep me going. E.g i have countless websites that i visit daily to seek inspiration and discover new things that i never knew about .Some of them are being run by 40 year old industry specialists and some by 13 year old girls who are fast becoming the new 'IT' things in the world of fashion.

I love Chanel and the classic tweed that Karl keeps renewing and the super stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe, but i do think its important to just get away from everything and have some time to yourself ( not that i often do but ah its a new year ).
I'm obsessed with the boho/hippy chic look favoured by the likes of Nicole Richie and the Olsen twins - flowery missoni vintage dress, massive chloe sunglasses, super high 'House of Harlow 1960 shoes' , hair in plaits and braids...and to top it off a vintage Hermes bag( btw the waiting list for hermes is 5 years ).
